VIFF Online Primary Festival 2020
VIFF was founded in 1982, as a non-profit organization that operates the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) and the year-round programming at the VIFF Centre.
For its 39th year, VIFF brings the world of cinema across British Columbia with an online festival from September 24–October 7, 2020. The 39th edition will showcase more than 100 feature films and events, from Canada, Asia and around the globe.
A 14-day online-primary festival is available through streaming platform and also a select number of in-cinema presentations, including the opening film Loretta Sarah Todd’s “Monkey Beach”.

第３９回目のバンクーバー国際映画祭が今年は1982年からノンプロフィット団体として発足し、BC州の映画産業を推進してきた映画祭。VIFFは北アメリカの映画祭の中でも規模が大きく、今年もBC、カナダ、世界中から選ばれた映画がVIFFコネクトというオンラインのプラットフォーム経由で、BC州の自宅からゆったりと映画を鑑賞できる。
映画祭は9月２４日から10月7日まで、カナダ、アジアを始め世界各国から集めた100本以上の映画がオンラインで（一部は規定のシネマでも）上映される。またトークやパフォーマンスを含んだイベントもプログラムに含まれている。VIFFコネクトは映画館と同じようにキュレイターつきで、監督のQ&Aも多く登場する予定だ（録画されたものあり）。一部のライブ上映は映画館と同じようにその時間のみ有効な鑑賞システムとなっている。
