Director Michael Moore
He came, made everyone laugh, and invited everyone for a drink!
Director Michael Moore attended the 30th Anniversary screening of his debut film “Roger & Me” (1989). It was a road movie about the General Motors (GM) plant closure in his hometown Flint Michigan, in which the director followed GM CEO Roger Smith everywhere to have some conversation.
Director Moore is known to have a sharp observation about the world. For example, he said we (who are over 50 years old and/or the Hippie generation) were somehow responsible for ruining the Earth to the worst-ever ecological condition. He even looked sad saying, “Look what we did to the next generation…”
He is not shy about pointing out his observation in this city: Vancouver is becoming more and more divided racially and economically. Many people nodded.
Still, his jokes were all-American and genuinely funny. We cannot wait for his next movie.
